Assessment Ladders (A-E)

Schools have been working on developing Assessment Ladders for each of the main cognitive verbs used in the Achievement Standards of the Australian Curriculum 8v.4. They assist teachers to distinguish between five levels of achievement (A-E) for summative assessment. Assessment Ladders can also be used to assist students to progress from one grade level to another.

Each Assessment Ladder will come with its own icon, related key words and suggested Graphic Organisers. The first four: Describe, explain, analyse and evaluate have been uploaded under Free Teacher Resources, Cognitive Verbs and Assessment Ladders. Participating schools are thanked for permission to publish.
